Do you ever wonder why we dont walk on the ceiling? yeah, me too. Well apperantly there is this thing called Gravity. Gravity does this incredible thing that makes us (and lots of other stuff) stay on the floor.
Sometimes, Gravity=Society.
Society has this idea that 'young people' can't do much. The expectations for us teenagers are awfully low.
In youth we started the series "Do Hard Things." -->The guys said that we too often put the ceiling where the floor is. With that low of expectations, we are destined to fail.
God wants our ceilings(aka expectations) to be soo unbelievably high. But we can't stop there. No, we must try to climb and climb to the top. God's expections should be way beyond the roof top. Defy gravity [:
No one is perfect, but if we strive for perfection we can reach excellence.
Again, we can't just stop there. It goes so much beyond this. This concept also applies to witnessing. We shouldnt get angry with society's low expectations for us if we put the ceiling where the floor is in our witnessing to others. If we have that low of expectations about those who we witness to, doesn't that make us just like hypocrates. We need to raise our own expectations of ourselves and others.
I encourage you to reach higher and really excel. Pass up all expectations and do what God has planned for you. Step outside of your comfort zone.
What will matter in the end: If we met societies basement expectations that decieve and destroy us...or if we can climb up to the roof and get close to God.
God has a plan for EVERYONE. We need to be willing to listen and follow Him to do what we were made to do.
“My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.” -Psalm 62:5

The descent of a Spiritual High---or is it??
While in youth prayer tonight God really placed something on my heart. We were doing a devotion before our time of prayer and it said how we need to be careful of the descent after a spiritual high.
Why? --because the devil is mad; he knows that God has won. This makes sense, and then God put this revelation on me:
So often after spiritual highs, we search for the bad and the discouragments trying to "be careful". Thats just what the devil wants us to do. What if instead we changed our perspectives. Instead of waking up thinking "ok Lord, last night was awesome i guess today is going to be hard"; we need to be thinking "ok Lord last night was awesome and today I am going to keep you first"!!
-Spiritual highs don't necessarily have to end. Start your day asking God for new grace, new understanding, and great encouragments. *Stay on track with Him.
I know what your thinking, easier said than done? Trust me, I know. I have had sooo many times where I leave church or a prayer meeting or a convention/camp feeling like a giant; nothing can get me...and then everything gets to me. But what I often fail to see is that God's presence and grace DOESN'T LEAVE.
So I hope to encourage and remind you that God's love is greater than we could ever comprehend. We should be focused on surrounding our entire day with His presence and making a concious effort to stay positive. Perspective is key.

New Year's Revelations. [an infinite God]
As I sit here trying desperately to try and figure out how to do this whole Blogger thing, I consider the essence of time.
Time-what we build our life on. Such a huge concern, yet sometimes we
wish it away. Or sometimes we wish we could have some of it back; but what really is time? Often I sit here and wonder just that, thinking its such a big deal, yet our time is so insignificant compared to God's eternal and His timing.
I think as human beings we feel comfortable knowing what we can do with our time and dwell on the thought of being accomplished for a long time. But what I want to consider is that God doesnt dwell on that; [the past]. Saying things like "I have been in church all my life" or "I have known God for a year and a half now" or even "I have kept my New Years Resolution for 2 weeks already" means nothing. Yes that is wonderful, however; what about the now? Same goes for the opposite. "I have been addicted for so long, I can't recover" or "I have done so much bad stuff for so long, I don't have enough time" or even "I will get serious when I am older"...If the amount of time we did something mattered, then why would God give us a new start everyday? I know, I know. Im pretty sure I ask a million questions...just what goes through my mind..
God gives us new grace, new life, and new love everyday. Everyday, every minute; we have the chance to change, to renew ourselves and realize its all in His plan. I know that for me, I need that. God is so wonderful to me that he allows me to be aware of the eternal now. So this New Years I didnt necessarily make resolutions, but rather God gave me new revelations. We (and I) need to consider the fact that God's time is truely infinite, in a way that we can't even understand. His eternal is so grand, and I feel wonderful knowing He loves us enough to be so forgiving that he forgets the past and focuses on the now. So why can't we?
I like to think God doesn't unfold our entire plans and lives for us because He knows whats best and knows it would overwhelm me. That is why I am thankful to have a God who lives in the now. A God of my future who i can trust my entire time with.
We are all human, all of flesh, and that right there is why we need God's infinite plans, infinite grace. God is eternal. and nothing can change that. [:
